# Wallet Setup: Metamask

### Installing Metamask

MetaMask provides the simplest yet most secure way to connect to blockchain-based applications. Please install MetaMask on your Chrome, Brave or Firefox browser via [**this link**](https://metamask.io/).

{% hint style="danger" %}
Write down your seed phrased and store them in a safe place. **Never share this information with anyone and ****DO NOT**** save it as an image on your phone or PC.**
{% endhint %}

1. Open Metamask on your browser.
2. Select Import tokens.
3. Enter the information for the token you wish to import (you can find this easily on [**snowtrace.io**](https://snowtrace.io/))
4. The token information will usually auto-fill.
5. Select **Add Custom Token** to save.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Always **double-check** the token contract address to ensure it is not a fake version.
{% endhint %}

Your Avalanche-compatible token is now viewable in Metamask via the Avalanche network. You may repeat this process for other tokens if you wish.
